There are twelve children under the age of 2 years in this home from home environment. We work in close partnership with parents and carers and endeavour to care for babies/toddlers in a way that complements their home routine.
The room is divided into 3 main areas;
A carpeted area for crawling and playing.
A lino area for eating and messy play.
And a separate sleep room containing individual cots for babies to rest and sleep.
All children have access to outdoor play on a daily basis whatever the weather (we provide waterproof suits if raining)
Within the group, all children are supported in developing to their full potential at their own pace. Our named key person system enables us to ensure a planned curriculum tailored to the needs of each individual child. A wide variety of developmentally appropriate play activities and equipment are carefully chosen to support the children’s individual developmental needs, which is complimented by a high level of individual adult input. Activities are provided to stimulate the children’s natural curiosity and to meet their fast changing physical and emotional needs as they progress to toddlerhood.
We also endeavour to give each baby/toddler maximum personal attention, helping them feel safe and secure.
To maintain communication between parents and staff we operate a diary system which will contain a brief summary of your child’s sleep times, feeds and comments on your child’s day as well as all the key moments of your child’s day.
